Ease and Flow…
What does that mean to you? Do you have ease and flow in your life?
Up until about a month or two ago I didn’t even really know what that meant. I thought I did, as I often would do things for myself that involved self-care like pedicures, manicures, facials, rest days, television watching and reading. What I’ve discovered is there is a big difference between self-care and ease and flow. Here’s what I have found…self-care is a beautiful thing that can include many of the activities I’ve listed above and then some. (As a side note, many of us do not take part in enough self-care)! Resting our bodies and nurturing ourselves is a healthy habit!
Ease and flow on the other hand, is how we can ultimately move through life, our responsibilities and our obligations. When we stop, take a breath, become grounded and really present with what we are doing and feeling we can achieve ease and flow. Using our listening skills, not only when others are speaking but, also when we are thinking. Taking that breath and really sitting back and thinking before speaking, before doing and before moving is being really present and creates ease and flow.
Ease and flow is setting an intention, knowing what we get too to accomplish and doing it instead of writing out a check list that may or may not get accomplished. How many “to do” lists have we written that are still incomplete?
Ease and flow is not overcommitting, knowing when to say no and prioritizing the things that are really important to our end goal. How many times have we overcommitted and become overwhelmed and anxious which can lead to self-beat up.
Ease and flow is feeling light in our shoulders, open in our heart, breathing easy and taking on one task at a time with a smile on our face.
